Converts the international ounce price into rupees at the dollar rate, then compares it with the local Sarafa rate per ounce, tola and 10 grams.
| Weight | International | Local Sarafa | Difference |
|---|
1 tola = 11.6638 g · 1 troy oz = 31.1035 g = 2.667 tola. International price is spot before import costs, so a small premium (often 0.5–2%) is normal. A large premium usually means a tight local market or a weaker open-market dollar; a discount often follows a sharp drop in spot that local rates haven't caught up to. Jewellery adds making charges on top of these rates.
